C19 Travel Fund

A new opportunity is available to participants in the C19 conference in Albuquerque: a travel grant for conference participants with limited funds. This award is intended to expand and diversify the number of participants in the conference.

This year, three travel grants of $400 each will be awarded to help defray travel costs, lodging, and other expenses for conference participants with limited travel funding available, in order to enable them to present their work at “Climate,” C19’s fifth biennial conference, to be held in Albuquerque, New Mexico from March 22-25th, 2018. Grant recipients will also have their conference registration fees waived. The awards are intended to support contingent faculty, graduate students without access to travel funding, and other scholars for whom travel to the Albuquerque conference would present significant financial hardship. Priority will be given to early career scholars and others who would most benefit from participation in C19 at this point in their professional lives.

Applicants should send the following materials: an abstract of their accepted C19 paper; a statement of financial need (outlining, in brief, the reasons this award would be especially useful at this point in their careers); and a CV with full contact information. Please submit these as a single PDF document, with your last name in the document title, to Dana Luciano, selection committee chair (dana.luciano@georgetown.edu), no later than January 10, 2018. Note: you should receive a confirmation of receipt with 48 hours of your submission. If you do not receive confirmation, please write again to confirm receipt of your application.

The recipients of the grant will be announced on January 30, 2018.
